GRID Maker — Live Grid Layouts for Illustrator

Design perfectly proportioned grids without the guesswork. GRID Maker lets you set rows, columns, and cell size — and watch the grid build itself live, right on your artboard, before you commit to anything.

Features:

Real-time artboard preview — see a dashed preview grid update instantly as you adjust rows, columns, cell size, labels, or color, directly on your canvas
Custom rows, columns, and cell width/height
Optional numbered labels (1, 2, 3...) with adjustable font size
Full stroke color control with a live swatch and color picker
Remembers your last settings automatically — no need to re-enter your setup every time
One-click Reset to restore defaults instantly
Clean, no-clutter workflow: preview is dashed and temporary, final grid is solid and permanent — never any leftover artwork
Lightweight, native JSX — no plugins, no installs beyond the script itself

Perfect for layout planning, storyboards, pixel art guides, print grids, comic panels, and design systems — dial in your grid visually, then create it with one click.
